Alan Mullery had come through the ranks at Fulham, having joined them at the age of 15 in 1956, he signed pro forms on his 17th birthday and by 23 he was a Tottenham player.

Joining in the 1960s, a glamour decade for Spurs that saw them win the league and cup double and the Cup Winners Cup among others, the tough tackling midfielder found his new surroundings superior in every aspect.
