Tottenham youngster Oliver Skipp impresses in debut start against Burnley

The details of the game will not live long in the memory. Squeezed in between Barcelona and Arsenal, Tottenham struck late to secure three points against stubborn opponents in scrappy fashion and horrible conditions.

Little else mattered, and yet every second of it would have been cherished by Oliver Skipp.

Teenager Skipp, one of 13 academy graduates to be handed a debut in the Pochettino era, was making his first Premier League start, deep in Tottenham's midfield alongside Moussa Sissoko and proved to composed and assured from the opening seconds when he won an aerial contest with Ashley Westwood to the moment he was embraced by Mauricio Pochettino.
