Tottenham plan to make a new move for Everton's Ross Barkley when the transfer window reopens in January, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.
Chelsea and Tottenham were chasing Barkley's signature throughout the summer after the player informed Everton he would not be extending his contract, which has less than a year to run.
The midfielder came close to a move to Chelsea on deadline day after the Premier League champions agreed a fee with Everton only for Barkley to reject the move to Stamford Bridge.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was keen to add the 23-year-old to his squad this summer and sources have told ESPN FC that the England international was interested in the move.
