Darren Anderton believes Tottenham must respect Harry Kane's wishes to leave the club this summer.
The forward has informed Spurs of his desire to depart north London at the end of the season after failing to win a trophy with his boyhood club.
Kane, who has scored 220 goals in 335 games, also spoke of his desperation to win silverware in an interview Gary Neville. And Tottenham legend Anderton says the forward should be granted the chance to do so.
He told talkSPORT 2: 'We're at that point at the moment where you've got to give him credit.
