LONDON -- Tottenham's 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League was an impressive display of tactical maturity, according to Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane, who both said they have learned from last year's failures in the competition.
Spurs finished Wednesday's win at Wembley with just 38 percent of possession but they led 2-1 at half-time after Son Heung-Min and Kane scored superb goals on the counter-attack, either side of Andriy Yarmolenko's brilliant equaliser.
Kane added a third after the break for Spurs, who defended unusually deep and soaked up the Dortmund pressure, and they were unlucky not to score more, even if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had an equaliser wrongly ruled out for offside at 2-1.
