England supporters have greeted the news that Eric Dier has been omitted from the Euro 2020 squad with glee.

Gareth Southgate named his provisional 33-man side on Tuesday afternoon, but the Tottenham defender was nowhere to be seen.

Dier cemented his place in Three Lions folklore when he scored the winning penalty during the last-16 penalty shoot-out against Colombia at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
