There was more frustration at home for Spurs as a resolute Swansea claimed the point for which they had come. Though Tottenham dominated possession for long periods, they were unable to make the pressure count; a Harry Kane shot off the crossbar, midway through the second half, was the closest they came to breaking the deadlock. Spurs started slowly and the first half offered little by way of entertainment. After the break, the hosts upped a gear and moved the ball around faster, but their efforts went unrewarded.
Positives
A home clean sheet is always some consolation and Mauricio Pochettino can be satisfied with the defensive contributions of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez.
