Morgan Gibbs-White reportedly phoned Tottenham boss Thomas Frank to apologise after a dramatic U-turn led to the midfielder signing a new contract at Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham had believed they had activated a release clause in Gibbs-White's contract by making a £60million bid on July 10.
A medical had been booked for the England international, but the move was halted dramatically when Forest threatened to report Spurs to the Premier League for an alleged 'illegal' approach.
Forest's anger had stemmed from whether a confidentiality agreement in the release clause had been breached.
