Patrick Bamford signs new five-year deal at Leeds to put an end to Tottenham links after he was praised as 'one of the best strikers in English football' by boss Marcelo Bielsa

Patrick Bamford has ended speculation over his future at Leeds by signing a new five-year deal.

The 27-year-old, who scored 17 goals in the Premier League last season, was into his final year at Elland Road and had attracted interest from Tottenham.

But Bamford has now agreed fresh terms with Leeds to keep him at the club until 2026.

United boss Marcelo Bielsa said: 'Patrick is a very important player for us. He is one of the best strikers that English football has.'

Bamford joined Leeds in a £10million transfer from Middlesbrough in 2018. He has since made 111 appearances for the club, scoring 43 goals.
