Eric scored his third goal in 20 caps as England came from 1-0 down to beat Slovakia 2-1 at Wembley.
He was joined in the starting line-up by team-mates Harry Kane and Dele Alli. Eric and Harry completed the full match with Dele substituted with seconds left.
Eric produced a fine finish to equalise on 37 minutes after Slovakia started well and scored inside three minutes through Stanislav Lobotka. He darted to the near post to meet Marcus Rashford's low corner and turn the ball into the top corner.

Slovakia could have overtaken England at the top of the group with a victory - only group winners progress straight to Russia - but Eric's goal proved a turning point.
