Harry Kane has Wayne Rooney's Premier League goal tally in his sights after his brace at Nottingham Forest, as the Tottenham striker admits he's 'excited' at the challenge of chasing down the Man United legend and Alan Shearer in the scoring charts

Harry Kane vowed to chase down Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney in the Premier League’s all-time scorers’ chart after he pulled level with Andy Cole’s 187 goals.

The England captain scored twice as Tottenham won 2-0 at Nottingham Forest to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season. He also saw a second-half penalty saved by Dean Henderson after Steve Cook handled.

Shearer scored 260 times in the competition for Blackburn and Newcastle, while Rooney’s 208 goals is now Kane’s next target.
