Gary Lineker has quit the BBC after sharing an anti-Semitic post on social media, with the Match of the Day host leaving the corporation without a payoff from his £1.4million-per-year salary.
Lineker was due to leave his role as a presenter with the BBC at the end of the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Lineker said in a statement: 'Football has been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember – both on the pitch and in the studio.
