'From the first day there was no choice': Tottenham's club record signing Tanguy Ndombele reveals he had to leave the club after former boss Antonio Conte made it clear that he was not part of his plans

Tottenham's club record signing Tanguy Ndombele has claimed he had 'no choice' but to leave the club after being told he had fallen down the pecking order by former boss Antonio Conte.

The France midfielder joined Spurs from Lyon for a club-record £63 million in July 2019 but the move failed to live up to either party's expectations.

He was regularly criticised by Jose Mourinho during his time in charge in north London and never in favour under Conte.

Ndombele returned to Lyon on loan for the second half of last season, and has been at Napoli this campaign on loan.
