Christian Eriksen says he never 'wanted to escape' Inter Milan despite struggling to settle into Antonio Conte's side following his move from Tottenham in January 2020.

Eriksen said his first season in Italy was the 'hardest and most demanding' of his career and that he found his lack of pitch time 'annoying'.

However, Eriksen claims he was 'committed to fighting' for his place in the squad despite being linked with a return to his former club Spurs and with a swap deal with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.
