Chelsea are expected to bid for Toby Alderweireld this summer with the defender unlikely to remain at Tottenham.
Alderweireld, the Belgium centre-back, has failed to agree a new deal with Spurs, and he has been somewhat cast out of the first-team picture by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The 29-year-old is viewed as one of the best defenders in English football, and he is rated at £45m according to The Sun.
And Spurs have to consider selling Alderweireld this summer to get the maximum fee they can for him, as next summer he will either become a free agent or will be available for £25m if the Lilywhites activate a one-year extension he has in his current deal; Football Leaks revealed a release clause in Alderweireld’s contract which is active for 14-days if Spurs extend his deal.
