Cardiologists insist the defibrillator in Christian Eriksen's chest WILL save him if he suffers another cardiac arrest - as he prepares for his Brentford debut today just EIGHT MONTHS after nearly dying on the pitch at Euro 2020

Expert cardiologists insist the small defibrillator planted inside Christian Eriksen's chest will be robust enough to withstand the rigours of the Premier League, when he returns to action today.

It is unusual for an athlete to come back to elite sport with a defibrillator fitted, however, the Denmark international is set to make his debut for Brentford, who host Newcastle United at the bottom of the Premier League, this afternoon.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed Eriksen will play some part in the match, just eight months after the 30-year-old collapsed on the pitch while playing for Denmark, in a Euro 2020 group game against Finland.
