The 19-year-old midfielder marked his England Under-21s debut with a goal in Tuesday’s 5-0 thrashing of Bosnia-Herzegovina, having been elevated from the Under-20s set-up for the Young Lions’ final two qualifying matches for next summer’s European Under-21 Championship.
On the bench against Kazakhstan last week as England secured their spot at the Finals, his appearance on Tuesday in Walsall represented his first outing since our 5-0 EFL Cup win over Gillingham in September – a game which also yielded a landmark goal in the form of his first senior strike in our colours.
Both were similar finishes – cool and well-placed, into the bottom corner.
