Youth serves Raptors, Celtics well

That the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors have firmly established themselves as the top two teams in the NBA’s Eastern Conference is no big surprise given the talent coursing through each organization.

What is eye-catching, however, is how many young players are playing integral roles in each team’s success.

The idea that it takes vast experience to learn how to win in the NBA is cast aside now that Boston relies heavily on rookie Jason Tatum and second-year forward Jaylen Brown. Toronto, meanwhile, starts rookie forward OG Anunoby and has a dominant bench group with four players with less than three years experience.
