Young Raptors impress in tight loss to Spurs

SAN ANTONIO—Dwane Casey made certain to be clear that there’s no room in the equation for a moral victory for his Raptors, but there were plenty of bright spots in the team’s 102-95 loss to the Spurs on Saturday night.

The Raptors opted to rest their two top players in Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan after a Friday night win in Memphis. The Spurs, now a perfect 39-0 at the AT&T Center this season, used an almost fully-stocked roster, making only veteran reserve Matt Bonner inactive for the game.

With the Spurs boasting their uber-talented starting five of Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Danny Green and Tony Parker, the game should have been a cut-and-dry blowout, something over before halftime with both teams on to their next game.
