Warriors hint that Kevin Durant could return when series switches to Oakland

When the Golden State Warriors arrived in Toronto last week, with Kevin Durant still rehabbing a calf injury, head coach Steve Kerr laid out what seemed like a long timeline for the star small forward’s return.

Before he played a game he’d need to practise with the team, but before joining team drills he’d need to work out individually, and by the eve of the NBA Finals, Kerr said, Durant hadn’t done any of that. Four days, some intensive treatment, and a few on-court workouts later, Durant’s recovery process is picking up speed.

Durant was unavailable for Game 2 on Sunday night, but earlier that day Kerr told reporters the 10-time all-star could return for Game 3 in Oakland.
