OKLAHOMA CITY—Jonas Valanciunas realizes there is much more basketball to be played this season and he’s willing to take some short term frustration so that he’s going to be able to play it.
Some pain in his knee and a small accumulation of liquid in the joint, discovered when the Toronto Raptors centre had an MRI last week, are keeping him out of action. But because it’s so early in the season, he is willing to give into the medical experts rather than fight it.
“My guess is it’s less (frustrating),” Valanciunas said after the Raptors went through a morning shootaround at the Chesapeake Arena here Wednesday.
