Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry addressed Saturday’s news conference swaddled in grey sweats, and feeling cheerful even as his team wrestled with the difference between a very good team and a dominant franchise.
As an organization, the Warriors are a dynasty. This year marks their fight straight trip to the NBA Finals, and they’ve won three titles over that span. If achieving that level of year-over-year success was simple, more clubs would do it.
But this particular edition of the Warriors has zero rings, because the 2018-19 NBA championship is still up for grabs, and you can’t defend a vacant title — you can only compete for it.
