Last month, I discussed who should be the starting power forward for the Toronto Raptors this season. With Nick Nurse rotating between Jonas Valanciunas and Serge Ibaka at center based on matchups, it might be time to have this discussion again.
Nick Nurse has said that Valanciunas will be guarding traditional bigs such as Andre Drummond or Dwight Howard while Ibaka guards bigs who usually play on the perimeter like Karl Anthony Towns. Although the center position is dependent on Toronto’s defensive matchups, the power forward battle has more to do with a player’s offensive skillset.
