On April 12th, the eve of the NBA playoffs, the Toronto Raptors announced that OG Anunoby had an emergency appendectomy. The small forward and key part of the Raptors rotation had an indefinite timetable for return, which was expected to last a minimum of two weeks.
It was a critical blow, for both the team and Anunoby himself. Anunoby had a difficult year both on and off the court. This injury was just another blow below the belt. The Raptors, meanwhile, would be missing a crucial part of their rotation for the most important playoff run in franchise history.
