It’s perhaps one of the most common party/workplace/barbershop debates of all-time: “Player X is over/underrated.”
Of course there is almost always someone on the other side of the aisle ready to debate. After all, if everyone unanimously agreed on what players were overrated, well then they wouldn’t be overrated anymore.
A common “straw-man” argument that exists whenever a player is dubbed overrated, is that they are not good. Of course this is not necessarily true. Even if you believe LeBron James is overrated (he’s not) and Ish Smith is underrated (he might be), you are still very unlikely to believe Ish Smith is better than LeBron.
