Toronto Raptors: Three Takeaways from ‘complete’ win over Brooklyn

The Toronto Raptors began Friday’s game slow and sluggish, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Despite putting up 28 points in the opening quarter, Toronto still found themselves down seven after 12 minutes, without an answer to D’Angelo Russell.

The Nets’ point guard looked to be on his way to another spectacular outing against Toronto, as he came out of the gates with 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists in his first 10+ minutes of action. At that point, Kyle Lowry had enough.

In the three quarters that followed, Russell scored a total of 12 points, finishing with 24 in what ended as a lopsided loss for the Brooklyn Nets.
