Toronto Raptors: Stanley Johnson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson haven’t been good enough

The Toronto Raptors took a calculated risk this past summer. They decided to sit out the start of free agency while Kawhi Leonard took his time pondering his future.

At the time, it seemed like the Raptors had a legitimate shot of re-signing the superstar small forward. The team was fresh off its first championship in franchise history. With the exception of Leonard and Danny Green, all of the team’s core players were under contract for at least one more year. If Leonard opted to re-sign, the Raptors would have entered the season as favorites to repeat.
