Overpaid. Not worth it. $31M extension is too much for a declining point guard. These are the opinions of some fans around the NBA as news broke that Kyle Lowry was re-signing with the Toronto Raptors on a 1-year, $31M deal.
And yes, it is true that having Lowry on the books for what will now be two-years, $64M isn’t ideal, that doesn’t tell the entire picture. After this season, Serge Ibaka, Marc Gasol, Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam are all out of contract and heading into free agency. While it is expected that the Raptors will re-sign Siakam at some point, the other players remain a mystery.
