The Raptors entered the 2019-20 season as NBA champions. What followed became something of a surprise: the Raps out-performed their previous regular season — despite losing their central superstar — and marched into the playoffs with a shot at another title.
Along the way, Toronto found out what they had with their bench, saw the growth of a new All-Star, and came together during a suspended season and restart that included all sorts of moments of weirdness and emotional unrest. It was a lot, but it was also fun and rewarding.
