There’s a gaping hole in Wayne Embry’s life these days, when he’s supposed to be in Toronto watching another Raptors playoff run and lending his sage counsel to team president Masai Ujiri as the summer months of the draft and player movement hover on the horizon.
And every day he seems to recall conversations that hammer home just what he’s missing during the pandemic, with the game and league he loves existing in name alone.
“Miss being around the people and players, hopefully being able to repeat,” Embry said by telephone from his home Tuesday afternoon.
