Fred VanVleet is going to get some beach time.
VanVleet and the rest of the Raptors will have the entire NBA all-star weekend free after coaches left them off the lists of backups for the March 7 game in Atlanta.
VanVleet, who was seen to have the best chance of any Toronto player to make the team, said earlier this week he would love to make his all-star debut but the alternative wasn’t too bad, either.
“I’m hopeful and we’ll see where that ends up but … if not, then I’ll probably be on the beach for those couple days when we get to the all-star break,” he said.
