PHILADELPHIA—Undermanned and 7 1/2-point underdogs heading into Monday’s Game 2 against the 76ers, Raptors coach Nick Nurse was telling anyone who’d listen that his team had been unfairly bullied in a blowout Game 1 loss.
In a couple of separate press conferences, Nurse lobbied referees for a fairer whistle, claiming officials missed numerous Game 1 transgressions from the Sixers, including what he called “a slap to a face.”
“I hope (the referees have) got enough guts to at least stop the game and look at that stuff (on video review),” Nurse said.
At the same time, the Raptors coach implored his players to do a better job matching Philadelphia’s physicality.
