Forget the numbers, dump the traditional naming of positions. The Raptors are going to have five guys on the court and it doesn’t matter what anyone calls them because they want them to be interchangeable.
Kyle Lowry may bring the ball up the court one time, OG Anunoby might do it the next, then Pascal Siakam or Fred VanVleet.
Anunoby might be the “four” or Siakam the “five,” or the other way around, and it won’t matter a bit to either of them.
Matt Thomas might be a shooting guard who covers small forwards, or he might be a small forward who guards some frontcourt players.
