The pandemic was only part of the problem in ‘tumultuous’ Raptors season

It took Stanley Johnson about two beats to come up with the answer when he was asked to describe the craziness that has been this Raptors season.

“The pandemic,” he said. “I mean, I don’t know how else to put it.”

He’s right, of course. The coronavirus waged war on the disappointing Raptors season from start to finish — it wages war on our daily lives still — but it’s an oversimplification to say it was solely COVID-19 that wrecked the shortened NBA campaign.

The reasons for the disappointing season are many and varied.
