It’s a fitting coincidence that Kyle Lowry’s birthday, March 25, also happens to be the NBA’s trade deadline. With Lowry in the final year of a contract and his future in Toronto far from clear, the remaining days before the all-time franchise point guard turns 35 are sure to be rife with speculation on his future.
Not that it’ll faze Lowry, a hardened veteran who knows what it’s like to be the subject of very real trade talks, most recently in the lead-up to Toronto’s championship in 2019, when the Raptors seriously considered packaging him with Jonas Valanciunas in the deal that brought Marc Gasol from Memphis to Toronto.
