The 28-year-old hopes a 17-point night Thursday is the start of a good stretch.

Chris Boucher barely recognized himself and what he saw he didn’t much like during a disappointing and perplexing start to the NBA season.

He wasn’t having any impact on games, he was scuffling along like he never had before and it bothered him.

He knew he could be better, knew he had been better, and although one game does not a season make, Boucher’s performance in Philadelphia on Thursday was like finding an oasis in a desert.

“I feel like I’ve been searching to get that feeling again, feeling like you’re doing the right thing and in the right spot,” Boucher said after scoring a season-high 17 points and grabbing six rebounds in Toronto’s victory over the Sixers.
