The numbers next to Terence Davis II’s name in the Raptors boxscore at halftime Tuesday left much to be desired.
The 22-year-old guard was 0-for-5 from the field against Milwaukee through two quarters, and 0-for-3 from three-point range. He contributed two defensive rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal, but he also had one of Toronto’s seven turnovers. Coach Nick Nurse gave Matt Thomas the late second-quarter minutes usually logged by Davis.
It wasn’t what Toronto has come to expect from the undrafted rookie. The frenetic atmosphere in Scotiabank Arena, with fans anticipating a future playoff tilt with the regular season’s best team, got to Davis.
