The Phoenix Suns a decade ago were the toast of the NBA. More importantly, the way they played was a precursor to the game we see today. Led by Steve Nash, who won back to back MVPs, and coached by visionary Mike D’Antoni, the Suns were contrarians in the best sense. They wanted to play fast…no, faster than that! And they wanted to hoist shots from everywhere, no matter the number of seconds remaining on the clock.
That was then, this is now. The Suns are trying to return to those glory days, but don’t have the personnel to make it happen.
