The Orlando Magic have hired Toronto Raptors executive Jeff Weltman to be their president of basketball operations, sources told ESPN, confirming a report by The Vertical.
Weltman interviewed with the team two weeks ago and was selected over the weekend, agreeing to a five-year contract, sources said.
Matt Lloyd, who was the team's interim general manager following the firing of Rob Hennigan in April, will stay with the organization in a role to be determined, sources said.
The Magic interviewed several candidates for the job including Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond.
