Forget, for a moment, about the two missed free throws. Yes, when Pascal Siakam stepped to the line with seven seconds remaining in regulation of Sunday’s Game 3, there’s no reason he shouldn’t have drilled at least one of those freebies. He was a 79-per-cent free-throw shooter this season, which was better than the league average of 77 per cent. And yes, if Siakam would have sunk one or both of those free throws — if he hadn’t missed three of four from the line in the final 1:41 of Sunday’s fourth quarter — he might have spared his teammates the stress and strain of two overtimes.
