Short-handed Raptors manhandle Milwaukee Bucks

MILWAUKEE—It’s always a risk to take the long-term view, to give a key member of a team a night off in mid-March in the hope it pays dividends in late April, and Dwane Casey knows that.

But he understands that every now and then it may be a gamble necessary for the future, as hard as it may be to stomach sitting a player like DeMar DeRozan, who is so vital to the Raptors every night.

“We’re trying to win every game, we want to win every time we walk on the floor, but also too the health and the freshness of our guys is going to be important for us,” Casey said of the decision to rest DeRozan against the Milwaukee Bucks here Tuesday night.
