Short-handed Raptors beat the buzzer and the Wizards

There weren’t very many Raptors in the game, and the ones who were often had to play out of position and got away with it.

Gary Trent Jr. hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Raptors a 103-101 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday that was simply delightfully improbable.

Trent, who had limped off the court at the end of the first quarter, gobbled up a rebound and went about two-thirds of the way down the floor before drilling the game-winner in Tampa.

Toronto was reduced to nine available bodies after Fred VanVleet was ruled out with a left hip injury.
