In an expected move, the Toronto Raptors retained guard Norman Powell past Thursday's deadline and now his minimum salary of $1,471,382 is fully guaranteed for the 2017-18 NBA season.
Powell has been a steal for the Raptors since they traded for him after the Bucks selected him with the No. 46 pick in the 2015 NBA draft. In 76 appearances this season, Powell averaged 8.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
Back in April, ESPN Stats & Info broke down how important Powell has been for the Raptors during the 2016 and 2017 playoffs.
