Report: Serge Ibaka to leave Toronto, join LA Clippers on two-year deal

Just when you thought it was safe to go to bed on Day 2 of NBA Free Agency, The Athletic’s Shams Charania dropped the bomb that Serge Ibaka is planning to leave Toronto — and will sign with the Los Angeles Clippers:

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski then came in with the terms: Two years, $18 million. Shams, in turn, came with the hammer: The second year is a player option.

That last detail made this bit of news hit even harder, because if Ibaka is interested in becoming a free agent again next offseason, the Raptors could easily have beaten $9 million on a one-year deal.
