It appears that the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets have beat the NBA trade deadline buzzer in a late deal, one that sees Toronto sending Greg Monroe, along with a second-round pick, to the Nets.

The Raptors received nothing back except cash considerations, which makes this the second cost-savings move in as many days. A bit odd to see the team both making all-in moves, and making cash-saving moves at the same time — especially moves that leave the roster as thin as it is.
