Report: Raptors plan to waive Justin Hamilton

Justin Hamilton was officially a Raptor for less than 24 hours, as ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported on Sunday evening that Toronto plans to waive the 27 year old big man, and use the stretch provision on his contract.

The Raptors plan to waive and stretch C Justin Hamilton after acquiring him from Nets, league sources say.

By using the stretch provision, the team frees up a little bit more room for the rest of their salary cap gymnastics, as Hamilton’s 3 million guaranteed for this year will now be dispersed in three increments of 1 million dollars on the books for the next three seasons.
