News broke last week that the Toronto Raptors and restricted free-agent guard Fred VanVleet had agreed on a new two-year contract, and today, all parties made it official.
Terms of the deal were not officially announced, but there are no reasons to doubt the initial reporting of a two-year, $18-million contract for VanVleet. The second-year guard was a finalist for the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award last season, and averaged 8.6 points and 3.2 assists in 76 games. He led the team in long-range shooting, hitting 41% of his triples on the year.
