These are uncharted waters for the Raptors. Holding a 1-0 lead in a series for the first time since before some of the people reading this were even born, the Raptors have a chance to take a 2-0 lead for the first time ever in Game 2 against the Wizards tonight.
Reinforcements are coming. After sitting out Saturday’s opener with a shoulder injury sustained last Wednesday in Miami, Fred VanVleet will draw back into the lineup and, presumably, take the reins of the second unit over once again.
“VanVleet’s a really, really good player,” said Wiz coach Scott Brooks, “so we’re gonna have to make sure we know where he is and be able to counter that with some speed and hopefully we can match up with him.
