I alluded yesterday to the Toronto Raptors roster being announced for the Las Vegas Summer League. As the Raptors brains trust is circling the Free Agency airport, trying to figure out when and where to land, I thought we should take a longer look at the collection (it’s not really a team) of hopefuls.
The coach is Jama Mahlalela, who could be the rising star among the Raptors’ array of younger bench bosses-in-waiting. He’s stepped in for Jesse Mermuys, who has joined Luke Walton’s staff on the Los Angeles Lakers. For Mahlalela, this Nevada stint appears to be his dress rehearsal before being named the new head man for the Raptors 905 D-League team.
