Raptors sign Fred VanVleet, point guard impressed in Summer League

Fred VanVleet went to Las Vegas and won big.

The Toronto Raptors announced Monday that they’ve signed the undrafted six-foot, 195-pound point guard to a multi-year contract. He played well through five games for the Raptors in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 6.2 points, three rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16 minutes per game.

VanVleet spent four years with the Wichita State Shockers, taking the program into the NCAA tournament each year he played there. The team won nine games in four trips to the big dance between 2012 and 2016. He averaged 10.
